Contact Veterinarian:

If you listed a veterinarian on your application, contact your vet to give them permission to speak with a volunteer from VT Dog Rescue. Once you have made the call, send an email to 802dogrescue@gmail.com to let us know. 

If you did not list a veterinarian on your application, email to let us know why.

Contact References:

Please let your references know we will be calling. The adoption process will continue moving forward IF we are able to reach references. We will leave a voicemail message if the mailbox is set up and not full. Provide a reference who is likely to answer the phone or to return our call within 24 hours. 

Give us Time: 

This is the hardest part.  Due to the high number of applications received, it can take 1-2 weeks to process. We are diligent about finding the right match for each dog and that takes time.  Once we review all applications for a specific dog,  we will contact people we feel are a good fit and schedule a visit .When the dog is adopted, we will email to notify everyone who submitted an application for that dog.

We do our best to complete applications efficiently and with the dog’s best interest at heart. We look forward to helping you find just the right pup to welcome into your life.
