VT Dog Rescue is a small, foster based non-profit organization operated entirely by dedicated volunteers. As animal advocates, we have become the voice for homeless and abandoned dogs from overcrowded animal shelters in the South. We rescue family friendly dogs of all breeds at all ages.
We are currently rescuing dogs and placing them in well-matched loving homes. Most of the dogs we rescue do not appear on our website because we are matching them with people who have applied previously.
Due to high demand, we had to put applications on hold in the fall of 2020. For a limited period, we are opening up to new applications for one dog at a time.

If you previously adopted from us or are an active volunteer and you are ready for another pup - there’s no need to complete another application. Just contact us to get the process going.

COVID Update: December 2020
We continue to follow Vermont guidelines for COVID-19 and want to do our part to limit the spread of this virus. Based on Governor Scott’s recent mandate, we are not able place dogs in homes outside of VT. We will notify applicants of this change and apologize for any disappointment this causes. We expect this to be a temporary change and hope to resume out of state adoptions soon.
