Mookie is an approximately 3 year old goofy, loyal mutt who loves going for a romp outdoors with his people and then taking a nap in the sun. He is a love-bug who will lean up against you for a scratch. He knows sit, down, stay, place, and is pretty good at look. His recall is excellent.

Mookie weighs 95 lbs and has a fine, short coat. We ran his DNA and he is 1/4 American Staffordshire Terrier, 1/8 Boxer, 1/8 German Shepard, 1/8 Lab, 1/8 Weimeraner, 1/8 Toy Fox Terrier, and 1/8 sporting dog (perhaps pointer?). He's a true mutt!

One of his favorite things to do is to go running off-leash on trails, and he loves the water (as long as his feet can touch!).  He enjoys going to daycare at Oh My DOG and exploring the outdoors with Exploration Dog Camp. He does great in the suburbs, taking walks around the neighborhood on leash. He also loves it when we travel to more rural places, where he can be the lookout on the porch or chase chipmunks.

He is looking for a home that will be active with him and give him the structure he loves.  Mookie is great with all dogs, big and small - but he cannot live with cats. They are far too tempting. He loves going on adventures with his humans. He does great on road trips and in hotel rooms.

Mookie has no problem being left alone uncrated while we are away, as long as he gets a good, long walk in the morning and you're ready to give him another when he gets home. He can be skittish during big wind storms (he doesn't like the sound of things rattling), but isn't phased by thunder.

He is up to date on all his vaccines and was last tested (negative) for Heartworm in November of 2016. He currently takes a pill twice a week to help with some incontinence. If he's gone on a long run or hike and then is totally conked out, he sometimes leaks small amounts of urine. Completely manageable.
