This adorable pup was rescued near Crossville, AL where he had been living outside as a stray with his 4 siblings - but no mom.  This little family was fortunate to have been taken in by a local rescuer who has a heart of gold. She fed the puppies, obtained veterinary care and vaccines, and cared for these little ones in her home until they were old enough to travel to us in VT.

They arrived very late at night - amid the falling snow, freezing rain and cold VT winter air.  Hershey is nice and warm now, in one of our local foster homes, with a full belly, a soft bed and a family to love him.

Hershey is estimated to be 9 weeks old and he weighs 11 lbs. He is up to date on his vaccines & has been regularly dewormed. He is house broken and crate trained.

We do not provide DNA testing which is the only way to know with certainty which breeds are included in Hershey's family tree. We see Lab and Shepherd - but this is only a guess.  Based on his current size and rate of growth, we expect him to reach 40-50 pounds as an adult.
