Guiness is coming to us from a high kill shelter near West Monroe, LA. He is about 4 months old. He is house broken and crate trained. He is currently living in a foster home with other dogs and getting along really well.
He enjoys being active and would thrive in a home where he can play fetch, frisbee, go hiking or cross country skiing with his person. He is an awesome choice for people who like to be active and are looking for a companion to join them on their adventures. When settling in for the night, this pup is super snuggly.
Guiness developed an issue with his eye while in foster care. His foster mom brought him to Vermont Veterinary Eye Care who diagnosed him with a malformed retina and optic nerve in his right eye. This is a birth defect no one knew about. Poor Guiness has been blind in his right eye since birth. He has adjusted well and there are no concerns about his left eye. No treatment is necessary, but he is considered a Special Needs pup.
We do not provide DNA testing which is the only way to know with certainty which breeds are in his family tree. Our best guess is Lab mixed with Shephard, Whippet, or Grayhound.
- Crate trained
* Based on current veterinary recommendations, Guiness has not been neutered due to his young age. We do require proof of this procedure at a later date as part of the terms of our Adoption Agreement. Please discuss the correct time for this to be done with your veterinarian. We can provide a $75 rebate once the procedure is completed.
Our adoption fee is $375 which includes age appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, Rabies), worming, micro- chipping, and health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming and similar dog related products and services are provided.
NEW: First vet visit is now FREE with participating VT veterinarians.
