This beautiful girl was found as a stray in MS and ended up in a kill shelter. It’s common for there to be many black dogs in the shelters and they are frequently passed over for dogs with lighter coloring. We are a small but determined rescue organization and we try to rescue at least 1 black dog each week. This time, the lucky pup is Ellie.

Ellie is an 8 month old playful girl that looks like she is constantly smiling.  Her name means “light”.   She is sure to bring light and happiness into your world.

She is very friendly, and loves playing with her toys. She loves people, other dogs and dog savvy cats.

We do not provide DNA testing which is the only way to know with certainty which breeds are in her genetic background. Our best guess is that she is a Lab mix. We expect her to reach about 50 pounds as an adult, but we can not guarantee size at maturity.
