Hobo is about 7 years old and had lived inside a home in his early years. When his person became ill and could no longer care for him, he was moved outside. He was free to roam in a fenced in yard and had a dog house for shelter, but he spent a lot of time alone in his older years.
When his person passed away, her house was put up for sale and he had to leave his home. Rather than be taken to the local high kill shelter where he would not have a chance of ever walking out - volunteers stepped in and asked if we could help. We booked him a spot on the next transport and brought him to VT.
Hobo's entire world was turned upside down and he has handled the changes with grace. People say eyes are the window to the soul... Hobo's eyes are full of love.
He is a great companion. His eyes light up when we talk with him and he is a skilled listener. Hobo has a heart of gold and would love to have a person of his own to hang out with again.
He's been so very brave but due to spending most of his time alone, he doesn't pick up on all of the social cues other dogs do. We are working with a trainer to help him with this.
This handsome dog is crate trained, house broken and has great leash skills. Although he enjoys his daily walks, Hobo is also happy curled up in front of the wood stove napping or having his belly rubbed.
He is a fluffy mix of several breeds primarily Anatolian Shepherd. People have shared they see St. Bernard, Husky, Collie, and Retriever in him. He weighs 75-80 lbs.
Hobo is heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Please consider welcoming Hobo into your life. He will be your loyal friend and devoted companion.
Our adoption fee is $350 which includes age appropriate vaccines (such as Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo), spay/neuter, worming, microchipping, and health exam.
